Patient reported outcomes, typically collected in HRQoL instruments are massively important in presenting any reimbursement argument.
We have published two papers in Value in Health mapping/cross-walking disease specific instruments to EQ-5D (obvious QALY input into H.E. model potential) using fractional polynomial techniques. Many other techniques are possible and we follow advancements. If the aim is to incorporate the mapping into a Health Economic model we can advise on the desirability of different options (changes dependent on the type/complexity/required flexibility of model).
We can perform classical validation analysis techniques – adds credibility to a pivotal trial (where included instruments are secondary – include in main manuscript or create another).
Over the years, we have analysed many instruments across multiple diseases for many different purposes (burden of illness/impact, health economic modelling, contrasting opinions/mismatch between patient and physician opinions, discovering distinct patient segments/clustering, identifying minimal importance difference thresholds). See our publications for evidence.
